Pre-Sales Consultant

Working with the sales team to sell Metron's Athene capacity management software. Key activities will include client presentations, demonstrations, pre-sales software implementation, skills transfer user training and technical management of software evaluations. Subsidiary activities will include liaising with the development team on product enhancements, presentation of technical papers at conferences, presentation of formal training courses and some first line post-sales support. The position reports directly to VP Sales and Marketing.
An experienced IT professional with a broad background in many aspects of large scale IT systems management. Significant zOS experience and knowledge is essential, good distributed systems knowledge (one or more of UNIX, Linux, Windows, iSeries) in addition will be an advantage. A good understanding of the concepts and theory of performance and capacity management will be required, practical experience is highly desirable as is knowledge of the various products available in this area. Awareness of or training and qualifications in ITIL® will be useful.
Energetic and flexible as the job involves significant amounts of travel throughout the USA , often at short notice. The job suits an independent, self-motivated and responsible individual as when not at client sites the role is home based. A suitable home working environment is therefore a prerequisite. Some overseas travel is also likely, in particular to the UK for initial training. Excellent verbal and written English skills, interpersonal qualities, presentation skills and a high level of numeracy are prerequisites.
Salary dependent on experience, typically in the region of $75K-$100K plus benefits (bonus/profit share, contribution to health care). 15 days annual leave per year.
